Summer dances are open to any students ages 12-18. (2025-26 students who are 19 are allowed to attend.)

All new parents for the 2026-27 year are required to come to a parent meeting. We will have parent meetings at 8:00 at every summer dance, and one on August 22 at 10:00 am at Mt. Zion Baptist. If your student is considering joining us for the 2026-27 year, please attend a meeting. Your student will not be allowed to attend class in the fall without one.

Be neat.
No undergarments showing
No hats inside. (Removing hats when entering is a sign of respect.)
Tucked in collared shirt. A tie is not required.
Dress pants or neat jeans (no holes) with a belt
Dress shoes/boots with a leather or plastic bottom - no tennis shoes (Rubber bottoms stick to the floor and make dancing harder.)
Attire for all attendees should be modest, comfortable, and functionally suited to vigorous movement. Coverage should be consistent while dancing, not just when standing still.

Dress or skirt to the middle of the knee or loose-fitting slacks or neat jeans (no holes), and nice shirt (no t-shirts or tank tops)
Heels of any height are required. Wedges are not allowed unless they have a strap on the heel and are flexible. Boots are fine. (Shoes need to be very comfortable - they are required to be worn all night.)

Not permitted: excessively tight clothing; exposed undergarments, cleavage, midriffs, open or laced up backs; slits above the knee; keyholes; straps narrower than 1 inch; strapless or off the shoulder dresses.

Gentlemen dance with ladies (no same sex dancing; we will rotate students into the dances as needed).
Abide by the dress code.
No crude or foul language will be tolerated.
Be courteous and polite to others.
Obey instructors/chaperones. Parents may be contacted to come and get you if you are not willing to listen.
Students are required to dance at all times unless injured or sick.
Cell phone usage is NOT allowed during class time. Cell phones may be confiscated if not obeying this rule.
You may not leave the building without permission and must be in the company of a chaperone.
Parents need to ENTER the building to pick you up (for safety reasons). Student drivers excepted.
No gum chewing allowed.
